Brian feels it is a great privilege to be elected to City Council and looks forward to the opportunity to make a positive difference in the community. He asks for the residents and businesses in the city to stay in touch with City Council, “Email us, call us, write to us with your constructive ideas - stay engaged early in the process,” Brian asks. “You have a vested interest in everything that we do and together, we can keep Beavercreek the best city in this area to live, work, play, and pray.”

Election History
Brian V. Jarvis was elected to his 2nd 4-year term on Beavercreek City Council commencing January 2014 and will serve the 1st 2 years as the city’s Mayor. Previously, Brian was appointed to City Council in February 2009 to fill a vacated council seat and then was elected to his first term to City Council in November 2009, serving the 1st 2 years as the city’s Vice Mayor.

Background
Brian moved to this area in 1966 when his father was assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after returning from Vietnam. He attended the Mad River Township (now Riverside) school system and is a graduate of Stebbins High School.

Brian has been a resident of the City of Beavercreek since 2002, where he lives with his wife, Connie (a graduate of Beavercreek High School). His hobbies include genealogy research, studying philosophy, and exercising.

Experience
Brian served in the U.S. Air Force as a missile systems specialist, after which he obtained Bachelor of Science Degrees in Computer Science and Environmental Science, and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science, all from Wright State University.

Brian has worked for several aerospace companies and retired in July 2010 from Northrop Grumman Corporation as a computer engineer and Mission Assurance Manager where he oversaw quality assurance for all software, hardware, systems, and suppliers.

Memberships
Brian is active in the community. He previously represented the City of Beavercreek on the Greene County Family and Children First Council and the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission. He currently serves on the Greene County Law Library Resources Board. He is a member of a number of local civic and advocacy organizations, including the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, the Beavercreek Rotary Club, and the Greene Optimist Club. Brian also works as a poll worker during elections for the Greene county Board of Elections.
