Boards & Commissions

The City Council is assisted and advised by several standing citizen Boards and Commissions.  In addition to standing Boards and Commissions, special ad hoc citizen task forces and committees are periodically established by the City Council to study, advise and assist the City concerning specific topics and issues.  Members of Boards and Commissions are community residents and registered voters who volunteer their time and are appointed by the City Council to a term of office.  Appointments to fill Board and Commission vacancies are normally made each February.

We are currently accepting applications for the following vacancies effective March 1, 2014: Bikeway and Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Committee, Board of Zoning Appeals, Environmental Advisory Committee, Impact Fee Appeals Board, Investment Committee, Parks, Recreation and Culture Board, Personnel Board, Planning Commission, Tax Incentive Review Council and Youth Development Committee.  Citizens interested in serving on a board or commission are encouraged to fill out an application and return to the Clerk of Council by Friday, January 30th, 2014 to be considered for the March appointments.  Please contact the Clerk of Council with questions.
