The City of Beavercreek, in partnership with Beavercreek Township, Beavercreek City Schools and the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, will be receiving a remnant of the World Trade Center from the New York/New Jersey Port Authority to be placed in a memorial park. The park will be located next to Fire Station #62 on Dayton-Xenia Road. The committee hopes that the memorial park will serve as an educational tool for those that are too young to remember the events of September 11th, 2001 and to remind all others of the lives that were lost and of the sacrifices that are made every day by our first responders. The structural component of the World Trade Center was carefully selected by a local September 11th committee and will be transported back to Beavercreek by members of the Beavercreek Township Fire Department. The piece will be unveiled at 11:00 am on September 11, 2010 at the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival and will be placed on display for the entire weekend.

Indian Ripple Road
Starting Monday August 23 and continuing for up to 4 days, the contractor performing the roadway widening for this project will be relocating water facilities within the construction limits of this project. During this period, delays will be probable due to work occurring within the existing pavement area. There will be periods where traffic will be limited to one lane by flaggers. Additionally, there may be steel plates placed in the traveled lanes overnight to maintain traffic during non-working hours. This work will be performed between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Grange Hall Road Closure
On or after August 17, 2010 crews will be closing Grange Hall Road between Kemp Road and La Grange Road for the replacement of a failing culvert. The Detour for this work will be Dayton-Xenia Road to North Fairfield road to Kemp road. Grange Hall Road will be open to residents and local traffic between Dayton-Xenia Road and La Grange. Residents living in the affected area will have access to their residences. The work will be occurring in front of 2070 Grange Hall Road.

Mc Kay Road Improvement
The Contractor performing the work associated with this improvement has indicated they intend to begin their work early the week of August 9. This project involves replacement of an existing failing storm sewer that is parallel to Mc Kay Road starting at Hanes Road and ending near Maple Drive. The contractor intends to perform most of the work associated with this project without impacting traffic, but the lanes in the area of this work zone will reduced in width while the work is in progress. We would encourage anyone needing to travel in this area to use Lantz Road to avoid complications and delays.

Grange Hall Road Bikeway
The contractor performing this project may be starting with their work this week. This project includes placement of curb, storm sewer and side path on Grange Hall Road between the Creekside Trail and Research Park Blvd. The work is primarily on the east side of the road, but there is some minor widening that will be done on the west side near the US 35 overpass. Most of this work will be off the road, but construction vehicles will be entering and leaving the roadway area, which may create some slowdowns.
