Project Description
This project
generally consists of the following components:
1. The widening of N. Fairfield
Road along north and south from the entrance to the Nazarene Church /
Fairwood Drive. This project will allow for construction of a center left
turn lane for vehicles northbound and southbound on N. Fairfield Rd., in
order to lessen the number of rear end accidents at the intersection.
2. Project involves removal and
replacement of curb and sidewalk along with pavement placement and
modified pavement markings and enhanced street lighting.
3. Right-of-way acquisition will
involve only minor construction easements, subject to final development of
construction drawings.
4. Construction of the center
lane allows for easier transition to the future signalization of the
intersection.

US 35 Bridges at Factory

Project Description
This project
generally consists of the following components:
1. Replacement of the
deteriorated bridge decks on the bridges on U.S 35 immediately east of
Factory Rd., which spans the Beaver Creek. Additional work may include
the lengthening of the westbound left turn lane onto southbound Factory
Rd..
2. This project will be designed
and administered by ODOT, through their consulting Engineer, the firm of
Gannett – Fleming.

Project Status
This project
initiated Engineering work in 2007 and construction funding has been
designated for the State Fiscal Year 2010 with the start of construction
estimated for January of 2010. The project design contract and
construction contract are being administered by ODOT District 8 in
Lebanon, Ohio.
US 35 Corridor
Improvements Project; PID #80468
Project Description
In 2004, the Miami Valley Regional Planning
Commission in cooperation with ODOT, completed the
Greene 35 Corridor Study, to recommend a strategy to convert the
section of US35 between the North Fairfield Interchange and the Xenia
Bypass to a limited-access facility The current project, GRE-35-4.26,
focuses on the recommendations of the Corridor Study following ODOT's
Project Development Process (PDP). The PDP provides a framework for
decision making to take a project from the planning stages to
construction. The project is currently in the environmental analysis and
preliminary engineering phases. Additional information can be obtained at
the MVRPC website at mvrpc.org.
A public input meeting may occur as
early as late 2008.

Project Status
This
project environmental work and preliminary engineering has been awarded to
Ch2MHill by ODOT. Approval of the Environmental Document is scheduled for
the year 2010 with completion of construction drawings possible by 2012,
depending on availability of funds. Actual construction funding has not
been allocated.
Dayton-Xenia Road Widening Project; PID
#5005
Project Description
This
project generally consists of the following components:
1. The
widening of
Dayton-Xenia Road
to a four (4) lane curbed pavement section from
Wildonna Dr.
to just east of East Lynn Drive.
Dayton-Xenia Rd.
will be widened to five (5) lanes in the vicinity of
Grange Hall Rd.
and Stedman Lane.
Grange Hall Rd.
will be widened from the Creekside Trail to just south of
Milner Drive.
2. A bikeway
will be constructed along the north side of Dayton-Xenia Road and a
sidewalk will be constructed along the south side of the roadway. A
bikeway will also be constructed along portions of the west side of Grange
Hall Road, and a sidewalk along portions of the east side of the roadway.
3. The traffic
signal at
Grange Hall Road
and Dayton-Xenia Road will be reconstructed to be a mast arm type signal
with a new traffic controller that will provide for left turn arrows in
all directions.
4. Some
sections of Dayton-Xenia will be reconstructed to improve intersection
sight distance.
5.
Right-of-way acquisition will involve 68 parcels, and no homes or
businesses will need to be demolished to accommodate the proposed
improvements.

Indian Ripple Road @ Darst Road Widening

1. The widening
of Indian Ripple Road
along the south side of the roadway from the entrance to the Vineyard
church to Darst Road. This project will construct a long right turn lane
for vehicles eastbound on Indian Ripple turning onto Darst Road.

involves curb along the south side of the roadway, along with minor storm
sewer and signal improvements.

Pentagon Blvd. Widening
Project
Project Description
This
project generally consists of the following components:
1. The widening of New Germany-Trebein Road to a five (5) lane
boulevard from just east of Grange Hall Road to approximately 1,000 east
of Commons Blvd.
2. Project also includes decorative street lighting, curb, storm
sewer, the installation of a new traffic signal at Royal Gateway, and the
construction of a bikeway along the south side of the roadway.
3. The
City originally received a grant of $420,000 from the Ohio Department of
Development towards the design and construction of this improvement and
was recently notified of an additional $500,000 grant for job
development. The remainder of the project is being assessed to adjoining
property owners with the result being a project that was constructed at no
cost to the City.
