City of Beavercreek EARNS NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR EXCELLENCE IN GOVERNMENTAL ACCOUNTING

Finance Department receives prestigious award for 16th straight year

The Finance Department of the City of Beavercreek has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. This is the highest form of recognition possible in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The City of Beavercreek earned the award for its 2006 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, demonstrating full disclosure and clearly communicating its financial story for users to read. The City first received this honor in 1991 and has continuously received the award each year since. 2006 represents the 16th straight year for this achievement.

“Throughout the many audit requirements and changes over the years, the City of Beavercreek has responded, and residents should be proud of the Finance Department’s commitment to excellence and maintaining these high standards,” stated Financial Administrative Services Director Bill Kucera. “One of the Finance Department’s main goals is to receive this award for 2007 and into the future.”

The 2006 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report can be found on the City’s website.
