Beavercreek Media operates Cable Channel 5; writes, edits and publishes the
quarterly City newsletter; and maintains this Web site. Funds to operate
these services come from the 207 fund which are provided by Time Warner Cable's
franchise fees. Five percent of Time Warner's revenue from cable
television subscribers in the City of Beavercreek contribute to the 207 fund.
The City's current franchise agreement expires in 2007.
Beavercreek Channel 5 is the municipal television channel operated by the City of Beavercreek for Time Warner cable TV customers.
Channel 5 offers live, gavel-to-gavel coverage of public meetings, including City Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Parks, Recreation and Culture Board meetings.
These unedited meetings are taped and replayed several times until the next live telecast.
Channel 5 also features unique programs. These videos highlight the latest happenings in Beavercreek, provide information from the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio State Bar Association, Bureau of Workers' Compensation, and the Ohio Department of Aging.
Local events such as dedications, parades and festivals are covered.
Beavercreek Channel 5 features InTouch TV, a televised bulletin board displaying public service announcements from the City and non-profit and community organizations.
The City uses this televised bulletin board to disseminate immediate
announcements such as closings, advisories, levy information, lost pets, meeting
agendas, election returns, and more.
