Planning - Zoning Inspection
When do I need to get an inspection?
You need to have an inspection after you have received a zoning permit and have performed the necessary requirements for the inspection.
What do I have to do to get an inspection?
1. Call the Planning and Zoning office 24 hours in advance to schedule an inspection.
2. For an accessory structure (shed, detached garage), have the ground prepared as specified by Greene County Building Regulations.
3. For a fence, have the postholes dug.
4. For a pool, have the ground dug out where the pool will be for an in-ground pool or have the ground prepared for an above-ground pool.
5. For a deck, have the postholes dug.
6. For new construction (new house) including room additions, have the footers dug.
What does the inspector look for?
During an inspection, the inspector will look to see that the approved permit matches what is being placed on the ground:
· The dimensions of the structure is the same as on the permit
· The location of the structure is the same as on the permit
· Setbacks are correct and are the same as on the permit
