Project Description: This project will expand the closed-loop fiber optic signal system. Work includes installation of fiber optic cable along various routes in the City of Beavercreek. The project also generally includes the following:
- Connection of 30 intersections to the closed loop system.
- Installation of cameras for vehicle detection.
- Signal head and pedestrian head upgrades to LED.
- Curb ramp upgrades.
- Installation of batter backup systems at selected intersections.
- A new signal at the Dayton-Xenia Road and Stedman Lane intersection.

- Restriping of the northbound approach to the intersection on Grange Hall Road.

- Landscaping (i.e., shade trees, evergreens, shrubs, perennial flowers) along the northeast and southeast corners of the intersection.
- Minor grading work.
- Installation of decorative retaining walls to provide suitable planting beds.

- Safety upgrades,

- Increasing vertical clearance under the bridge,
- Widening the bridge to accommodate an additional southbound through lane over the bridge.

- Construction of one (1) bike lane along the east side of the roadway for northbound bicycle traffic along the entire length of the project,
- Construction of an 8 foot sidepath,
- Curb and gutter,
- Storm sewer.

- The installation of a new mast arm style traffic signal at the intersection,

21) 2011 Bridge Sealing Project
Project Description: The project generally consists of the patching and sealing of the MSE walls and parapet walls with epoxy urethane sealer of the following bridges:
- State Route 835 and US Route 35,
- North Fairfield Road over US Route 35,
- North Fairfield Road over Little Beaver Creek.
Funding: Construction = $200,000 (Local/Total)
Status: The project was awarded in the Fall of 2011. Due to weather restrictions for the sealant, construction will begin in the Spring of 2012. Construction is currently scheduled to last until early Summer 2012.
22) Beaver Vu Drive Signal Project; PID# 86974
Project Description: The project generally consists of the following components:
- Installation of new mast arm type traffic signal at the intersection of Beaver Vu Drive and North Fairfield Road,
- The new traffic signal will be connected to the City’s existing fiber optic signal system to ensure proper coordination with other traffic signals along this section of North Fairfield Road.

26) US 35 Corridor Improvements Project; PID# 80468
Project Description: In 2004, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) in cooperation with ODOT completed the Greene US 35 Corridor Study to recommend a strategy to convert the section of US 35 between the North Fairfield Road interchange and the Xenia Bypass to a limited access facility. The current project, GRE-35-4.26, focuses on the recommendations of the Corridor Study following ODOT’s Project Development Process (PDP). The PDP provides a framework for the decision making to take a project from the planning stages to construction.
