Beavercreek is very fortunate to have very dedicated volunteers who organize, sponsor, and coach our community youth sports programs.  We like to make their jobs a little easier whenever we can, so we keep copies of their various registration forms in our office.  You can pick them up in the lobby at City Hall.

NYSCA - National Youth Sports Coaches Association

History
Founded In 1981 As a Non-Profit (501-C-3) Membership Organization.  Governed By A National Volunteer Board Of Directors

Purpose
To improve the out-of-school experience by focusing on the psychological, emotional and physical needs of children.

Scope
Approximately 2,000 Accredited Chapters developed through Parks & Recreation Departments, Optimist Clubs, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA / YWCA, Church Affiliated Recreation and Military Youth Activities in all 50 states.  Over 600,000 members since 1981.

Membership
To qualify for membership in the NYSCA, coaches must successfully complete the NYSCA Coach Certification / Training Program; sign the NYSCA Coaches’ Code of Ethics Pledge; and remit their certification / membership dues.

About The Certification / Training Program
A one time three- to four-hour clinic conducted via video tape with interactive discussions.

Program Content
Psychology of coaching, maximizing athletic performance, first aid, safety, legal liability, the coach as a role model, practice organization and teaching the fundamentals of: Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Baseball, Softball, T-Ball, Football, Flag Football, Cheerleading, Ice Ringette and In-Line Hockey.

Membership Benefits
Benefits include $1,000,000 (excess) liability insurance coverage; Youth Sport Coach publication; Member’s Handbook; Membership card and patch; Qualification for All-American Drug-Free Team; Qualification for NYSCA National Coach of the Year program; Discount Program.
